Yankees Predicted To Lose Roki Sasaki To Rival Mets In Shocking Move

The New York Yankees have had quite an interesting offseason to this point.

They began the winter by losing the coveted Juan Soto sweepstakes to their crosstown rival New York Mets. That loss completely derailed the Yankees’ offseason plans, but the Bronx Bombers recovered quite well.

Since losing Soto, the Yankees have added Cody Bellinger, Devin Williams, Max Fried, and Paul Goldschmidt, among others.

But their offseason is far from complete. New York could still add a starting pitcher, an infielder, and a few relief pitchers to complete its roster this winter.

Pete Caldera of Northjersey.com recently predicted the Yankees would lose another free agency sweepstakes to the cross-town rival Mets. Caldera predicted Japanese phenom Roki Sasaki would elect to sign with the Mets over the Yankees.

This would be a huge surprise as Sasaki is favored to land on the West Coast with a team like the Los Angeles Dodgers or San Diego Padres.

“Defeated again by their crosstown rivals this winter, the Yankees are stunned as Japanese ace Roki Sasaki, 23, chooses the Mets,” Caldera wrote.

As stated before, it would be pretty surprising to see Sasaki choose the Mets, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

But if Sasaki does disregard the Yankees and choose the Mets, just like Soto did, the Bronx Bombers will be set back quite a way in the Subway Series.

Could the young, promising Japanese pitcher pick the Mets over the Yankees? Or will he land on the West Coast?
