Former military member at large after allegedly kidnapping and killing his 3 daughters

WENATCHEE, Wash. (TCN) — Officials are searching for the father of three young girls who were found deceased near a campground this week.

According to the Wenatchee Police Department, on the night of May 30, a mother reported her daughters missing after a planned visitation with their father, 32-year-old Travis Decker, who was believed to be living out of a GMC Sierra truck.

Investigators determined Decker and his daughters, 5-year-old Olivia Decker, 8-year-old Evelyn Decker, and 9-year-old Paityn Decker, were still in Chelan County.

Authorities located Travis Decker’s vehicle near the Rock Island Campground on June 2 and noticed it was unoccupied. According to KCPQ-TV, there were two bloody handprints on the truck, and it contained various items including blankets, food, car seats, and a wallet.

During a search of the immediate area, investigators discovered the bodies of the three missing girls. A preliminary examination reportedly determined the victims likely died of asphyxiation.

Investigators obtained cellphone evidence suggesting Decker had driven to and left the campground a day before the alleged kidnapping, KCPQ reports.

Police said they are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Decker, who is wanted on three counts of first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping. Officers noted that Decker used to be in the military and has extensive training. Officials do not know if he is armed, but “he may pose a significant risk if approached.”
