Man accused of killing his ex-wife’s boyfriend as he was singing karaoke at Ohio bar
BUCKEYE LAKE, Ohio (TCN) — A 59-year-old man stands accused of fatally shooting his ex-wife’s boyfriend during a karaoke session at a bar in Ohio and fleeing out of state.
According to the Licking County Sheriff’s Office, on the night of July 11, deputies responded to a report of a shooting at Louie’s Corner House, where they found Benjamin Hawk deceased with an apparent gunshot wound. Authorities identified Richard Lindgren, who WSYX-TV reports is the ex-husband of the victim’s girlfriend, as the primary suspect.
Lindgren allegedly went up to Hawk as he was singing karaoke and fatally shot him in the back of his head before fleeing. The sheriff’s office issued a warrant for his arrest.
The following day, Licking County Sheriff Randy Thorp said Lindgren was taken into custody in South Carolina. He was transported to Licking County on July 15 and faces a charge of murder.
