Man allegedly barricaded pregnant woman in his home to beat, rape, torture her
TOLEDO, Ohio (TCN) — A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged kidnapping and assault of a pregnant woman, according to authorities.
WTOL reports Jamere Jones, 25, has been charged with three counts each of kidnapping, rape, and felonious assault, plus one count of strangulation, two counts of causing a risk of physical harm via strangulation, and one count of domestic violence.
According to court documents obtained by the outlet, Jones allegedly barricaded the woman inside his home on Dec. 30 and 31, 2025.
Over the course of those days, Jones allegedly raped the woman, who was 21 weeks pregnant, several times, beat her with objects including a hammer, strangled her, poured rubbing alcohol on her, threatened to set her on fire, and pointed a loaded gun at her.
WTGV reports that at one point, Jones allegedly strangled the victim to the point of unconsciousness.
The victim, who has not been named, was hospitalized. WTOL reports the assault possibly caused trauma to her unborn child.
Jones’ bond was set at $590,000 and he is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Jan. 14, according to WTOL.
