Mom allegedly forced her kids out of car, left them alone, and reported them missing several hours later
SHREVEPORT, La. (TCN) — Authorities recently arrested a 33-year-old woman on suspicion of neglecting her children following a dispute.
On May 28, the Shreveport Police Department responded to the 3400 block of Palm Road to a report of missing juveniles. Investigators learned Laquesha Washington got into a verbal altercation with her kids, ages 12 and 11, before allegedly forcing them out of her car and driving away.
Officers allege Washington left her children alone and reported them missing several hours later. Police spoke with Washington at the scene. Meanwhile, a family member reportedly called law enforcement and said the missing children arrived safely at a home on Andrew Avenue.
Washington was arrested and charged with two counts of criminal neglect of family. Authorities also contacted the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services.
Police said both children were unharmed.
