New York man indicted after allegedly striking wife to death with ax
BUFFALO, N.Y. (TCN) — A 46-year-old man stands accused of killing his wife with an ax inside their home last month.
According to prosecutors, in the early hours of Aug. 26, Buffalo Police responded to a possible domestic incident at an apartment on Rhode Island Street. At the scene, authorities found Prieto’s wife, 29-year-old Elibeth Salazar, deceased on the bedroom floor.
The district attorney’s office alleges that Prieto struck Salazar with an ax inside their home. Officers located Prieto in the bathroom with self-inflicted knife wounds, and he was transported to a hospital via ambulance.
Prieto faces up to 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
