Politician’s 17-year-old son takes his own life due to sextortion scheme

Seventeen-year-old Gavin Guffey met who he thought was a woman online, but their flirtatious exchange turned out to be a much darker scheme. His politician father, South Carolina Rep. Brandon Guffey, went to kiss him goodnight one evening but instead found his son dead in the bathroom. Now, Gavin’s father is on a quest to make sure no other child falls victim to sextortion.
