S.C. teaching assistant allegedly used spray ‘designed to imitate fecal odor’ at school
FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (TCN) — Authorities recently arrested a 32-year-old teaching assistant on suspicion of dispersing fecal-smelling spray at a high school.
According to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, between August 25 and Sept. 19, Alexander Lewis, a teaching assistant at West Florence High School, allegedly “sprayed an internet-acquired spray designed to imitate fecal odor at the school.”
Authorities allege Lewis used the spray multiple times, disrupting the school. Some children reportedly required medical attention for respiratory issues due to the incidents. In total, the sheriff’s office said the suspect’s alleged crimes cost $55,000 for inspection and damage to the air-conditioning system.
Lewis was arrested on Sept. 19 and charged with disturbing schools and malicious injury to property.
