Teen accused of physically attacking 82-year-old woman
TIGARD, Ore. (TCN) — Police recently announced the arrest of a teen suspect accused of following an elderly woman and assaulting her, causing critical injuries.
According to the Tigard Police Department, on Aug. 3, 18-year-old Marcellus Ford allegedly walked behind the 82-year-old victim on the Fanno Creek Trail before he physically attacked her. Ford reportedly ran away, leaving the woman unconscious on the trail.
Police said the incident appears to have been random.
Fellow citizens biking in the area found the victim and called 911. The 82-year-old woman was transported to a hospital with severe injuries and remained in the hospital as of Aug. 5.
Authorities arrested Ford, and he was booked into the Washington County Jail on one count of second-degree assault.
