In Brussels, they are making plans for war, while here at home we are creating jobs. A 35 billion forints (92 million euros) investment, 210 new jobs, including a large number of research and development engineers, wrote Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on his Facebook page while setting off to attend the American electronic company Flex’s factory handover in Zalaegerszeg.
“War or no war, we are keeping our promises. With business-friendly and work-based economic policies, we are bringing new investments to the country, from Békéscsaba to Nyíregyháza to Zalaegerszeg. We are raising pensions and introducing a 14th month pension. We are introducing lifetime tax exemptions for mothers of three and two children. We have launched Europe’s largest home creation program. And I could go on and on.
The Brussels bureaucrats and their current domestic representatives are constantly attacking us for this. They think the bank tax is too high, the pension system too generous, and the personal income tax too low.
But economic policy is not just about numbers and tables. Our measures have one thing in common: we are doing them so that Hungarian people can live well, and live ever better. It does not matter whether you are young or old, have a family or are single. Everyone benefits from our government. This morning, Zalaegerszeg is also taking a big step forward”, stated the Prime Minister’s post.
Last September Flextronics invested two billion forints (five million euros) in research and development in Zalaegerszeg (western Hungary), with the Hungarian Government providing 670 million forints (1.7 million euros) in support. In the meantime, the company also increased the number of employees in the Zalaegerszeg factory’s R&D department as U.S.-Hungarian relations improved with Donald Trump taking office.
