Audi Hungaria has once again demonstrated its expertise with the launch of the new Q3 and Q3 Sportback. Despite 27 years of experience, the model launch in Győr presented new challenges, reads a press release from Audi Hungaria.
The Analysis Center/Pilothalle (APH), headed by Tamás Bánfi, was responsible for quality optimization. The biggest hurdle was the more complex electrical system and delays in software development. For the first time, a combined pre-series and series structure was tested, which “proved itself perfectly,” even though the ramp-up of the CUPRA Terramar was taking place at the same time. The successful resolution of problems, such as the initial tailgate noise, required cross-departmental cooperation.
Vehicle assembly also faced major challenges. Áron Gábor coordinated the necessary rescheduling of the production line to integrate the new technical requirements of the Q3 into the existing structure. This changeover was to be completed in just three days during ongoing operations, which required intensive preparation and a high degree of flexibility on the part of the workforce. A 13-member team of multipliers made a decisive contribution to this.
The Profiraum team ensured the necessary knowledge transfer. Under the leadership of Attila Németh, 301 colleagues were trained in the innovations, including complex topics such as new connectors, control units, screw fastenings, clips, and numerous innovations from the second PHEV generation.
The high level of motivation among employees to quickly familiarize themselves with the modern technology of the new Q3 was an important factor in this success.
Skilled workers such as Dávid Szabó, who is responsible for installing the instrument panel in assembly, see the biggest challenge not in the new work steps themselves, but in the change itself. Nevertheless, there is a high level of acceptance and enthusiasm for the new model. The certainty that the new Q3 – like its predecessor – will be very popular and thus ensure long-term job stability motivates the workforce. For many employees who combine their passion for technology with their profession, the rapid familiarization with modern innovations is an additional incentive.
The new Audi Q3 is thus much more than just a vehicle.
It is the visible result of close, cross-departmental cooperation and a remarkable transfer of knowledge at Audi Hungaria.
The professionalism of the team guarantees that the new Q3 is not only state-of-the-art in terms of technology, but also meets the high quality standards of the Audi brand. With this smooth start, Audi Hungaria is reinforcing its central role within the Volkswagen Group.
