Budapest Airport Unveils Winter Schedule with New Flights and Record Capacity

Budapest Airport’s winter schedule includes seven new flights, and the frequency of existing routes will also increase, giving passengers a total of 8.9 million seats to choose from – 12.5% more than in the previous winter season. The new flights include popular European destinations such as Bordeaux and Newcastle.

In Liszt Ferenc International Airport’s new schedule, starting at the end of October, easyJet is offering two new French destinations: the picturesque Bordeaux and Nantes.

Jet2.com is launching flights to the British Newcastle and the East Midlands, while those who prefer warmer climates can fly to Marrakesh, Morocco, with Ryanair. Wizz Air is also offering new connections, this time to Turin (Italy) and Tallinn (Estonia). In addition, SAS Scandinavian Airlines is expanding its Copenhagen (Denmark) flights: from November to March, it will operate daily flights, and at least five flights a week during the rest of the season.

Compared to the 2024 winter schedule, the number of routes available from Budapest has increased by nearly 30, bringing the total number of destinations to 182.

The new frequencies and increased accessibility of popular destinations are contributing to strong passenger traffic: between January and August 2025, over one million more people traveled from Budapest to foreign destinations than in the same period last year.

Budapest Airport is preparing further developments for next year: American Airlines will return to the network with its Budapest-Philadelphia route, and Air Canada will restart its previously popular Budapest-Toronto connection.

In 2026, Condor will appear in Budapest as a completely new airline, strengthening the Frankfurt route with three daily flights, and the number of Budapest–China flights may also increase as a result of the Hungarian–Chinese aviation agreement.

“Budapest Airport is opening a new chapter in diversified growth by bringing in new airlines and destinations and utilizing off-peak capacity,” said Markus Klaushofer, Chief Commercial Officer at Budapest Airport. “We are delighted to welcome our airlines’ new services. The record-breaking winter season and transatlantic flight developments reinforce our commitment to maintaining Budapest’s position as the number one airport in Central and Eastern Europe,” he added.
