Budapest Central European Fashion Week Kicks Off

The 17th Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) officially opened on Monday and will be welcoming visitors with fashion shows and accompanying programs throughout the city until February 15.

Organized by Creative Hungary, the event series features designers from Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Slovenia, Serbia, Armenia, Romania, and Ukraine, with over 40 Hungarian and international designers presenting their fall/winter 2026/2027 collections, Creative Hungary told MTI on Monday.

Over fifty programs, including studio visits, workshops, and professional discussions, will give visitors the opportunity to learn firsthand about the opportunities and values inherent in the industry, from the creative process to conscious consumption.

As the announcement states, Creative Hungary aims to promote Hungarian designers, strengthen the international visibility of Hungarian and regional fashion brands, and build long-term, sustainable professional and market relationships between countries in the region.

The featured fashion shows will take place between February 13 and 15 at two locations. On Friday, the Apollo Gallery will showcase the collections of designers at the beginning of their careers, while on Saturday and Sunday, the Museum of Fine Arts will showcase the collections of established Hungarian and international brands.

Every season, Creative Hungary invites numerous international journalists, retailers, renowned models, and fashion industry figures. Internationally renowned French hairstylist Kevin Jacotot is responsible for the professional hair concept of the shows.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Schickedanz Hall on the first floor of the Museum of Fine Arts will host Fashion Hub, one of the most open, community-focused spaces of Fashion Week. Visitors can take part in presentations by young designers, creative workshops, and professional talks. Fashion Hub is both a design fair and professional showroom, offering concrete business connections for designers and retailers.

Budapest Central European Fashion Week is open to both professionals and the general public.
