Dune Stars Reunite in Budapest

Filming for the third installment of Dune has begun in Budapest, and the main cast members are arriving in the city one by one. Following Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, fans spotted Anya Taylor-Joy, confirming that she will indeed be returning to Denis Villeneuve’s grandiose sci-fi universe.

The actress first appeared in the second installment as Alia Atreides, the sister of Paul Atreides, played by Timothée Chalamet. Alia is one of the most complex and mysterious characters in the Dune universe, and her role will become even more prominent in the third installment.

Anya Taylor-Joy was recently seen having lunch with Zendaya, and on another occasion she was spotted at the Great Market Hall, the largest and oldest indoor market in the Hungarian capital. Since arriving in early July, Zendaya has had multiple sightings around the city, from restaurants to coffee shops, showing that she enjoys exploring Budapest.

Timothée Chalamet has kept a lower profile, with only a handful of sightings outside of filming.

The story of the third movie is based on Frank Herbert’s novel Dune Messiah, which covers the period after Paul’s rise to power. Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures continue to consider Budapest a prime filming hub: scenes from the first and second installments were shot here, and it appears that the crew has returned to the tried-and-true Hungarian locations. Fans are now speculating about when Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh and potentially Robert Pattinson, who is rumored to play a key role in the final movie, will appear.

The exact release date of the film is not yet known, but if filming goes according to plan, Dune: Part Three could hit cinemas in 2026.
