European Institute of Innovation and Technology Opens Office in Budapest

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has opened an innovation office in Hungary, the institute announced on Monday.

The office, that will cover all EIT innovation areas, will connect local innovators and other relevant actors to Europe’s largest innovation ecosystem and will enable Hungarian talent and entrepreneurs to access the EIT Community’s education, business support and innovation programs in one place.

As an information point, it will bring together news about the EIT Community’s services and opportunities, and will also help the region’s competitiveness and economic growth by encouraging collaboration between business, education and research organizations, they said.

The office, established under the EIT Regional Innovation Scheme (EIT RIS), will be part of a network covering more than 20 European countries.

The EIT Community Hungary will be inaugurated on January 22, with a presentation of available resources and cooperation opportunities.

Founded in 2008, the EIT helps businesses, higher education institutions and research organizations work together to foster a business- and innovation-friendly environment in Europe, reads the institution’s website. The EIT expects that the innovations of its partners can boost the continent’s competitiveness, raise living standards and create new jobs.

The EIT Community is a collaborative network comprising the institute’s long-term partnerships. By leveraging their collective expertise, communities launch initiatives to bring together academia, research, and business.
