For two weeks, the public can view 25 exhibitions by nearly 100 artists until November 9, at the 10th Budapest Contemporary Jewelry Week, that also features professional workshops and lectures.
The event is supported by the Association of Young Artists’ Studios (FISE), and not only provides a source of inspiration and professional advancement opportunities for artists, but also offers an opportunity to promote contemporary jewelry art to a wider audience, the announcement emphasized.
In keeping with the spirit of the early days, this year’s event will focus on Hungarian jewelry designers. Interested parties can visit exhibitions, guided tours, and discussions at numerous locations in Budapest.
During the series of events, the public will be able to view more than 25 exhibitions by nearly 100 artists. The professional workshops and lectures will be organized by the participating jewelry designers, who will also hold guided tours, workshops, and performances on a variety of topics.
Among the programs, the FISE Gallery will host an exhibition by the founding members of Jewelry Week, the Porcelain Palace will present the latest porcelain jewelry collection by Herend Porcelain Manufactory, and the FUGA Architecture Center will host an exhibition by three jewelry designers—Janka Kreisz, Veró Lázár, and Orsi Padányi—will present an exhibition exploring the relationship between womanhood and nature.
Foncière Budapest Studio will also become an international meeting place for Jewelry Week: in addition to Hungarian participants, visitors will have the opportunity to view the work of jewelry designers from Taiwan, France, and Italy.
The Goldsmith Craft History Collection welcomes visitors with a group jewelry exhibition and a lecture by goldsmith Zoltán Tóth, a teacher at MOME University of Art and Design. Those interested can also visit a studio apartment, where they can see the jewelry made of special reflective surfaces by Eszter Sára Kocsor and the hammered copper objects by Sarolt Sógor, gaining insight into the creative processes.
