Fact
Francis II Rákóczi (1676-1735), was a Hungarian nobleman, leader of the War of Independence against the Habsburgs in 1703–1711 as the prince of the Estates Confederated for Liberty of the Kingdom of Hungary. Furthermore, as an exile, he is one of the best-known heroes of Hungarian history. He was also the Prince of Transylvania, an imperial prince and a member of the Order of the Golden Fleece. If nothing else, his portrait is well known from 500-forint banknotes.
