Hertha BSC Legend, Pál Dárdai, Takes On New Role at His Club

Pál Dárdai, the legendary player and coach of Berlin football club Hertha BSC and former head coach of the Hungarian national team, will keep working for the German club.
The club held a general meeting on Sunday, during which it was announced that the Hungarian professional will oversee the scouting of Eastern European players and will also act as a kind of brand ambassador.
We have agreed in joint discussions that Pál Dárdai will be available to us for scouting in Eastern Europe,”
German news portal Welt cited managing director Thomas Herrich at the members’ meeting in the City Cube in Berlin as saying.
Dárdai, 48, has managed Hertha three times in his career, holds the club record with 286 league games as a player, and is seen by fans as Hertha’s savior as a coach. Between 1997 and 2011, he played 372 games for Hertha and then worked as a coach in the youth system. He managed the adult team for the first time between February 2015 and summer 2019, for the second time between January 2021 and November 2021, and for the third time between April 2023 and June 2024.
Two of Dárdai’s sons, Pál Dárdai Jr. and Márton Dárdai, following in their father’s footsteps, play for Hertha BSC, while the youngest, Bence, recently made his Bundesliga debut as a player of Wolfsburg.
