Hundreds of Exhibitors Await Students at International Career Choice Event

Hungary’s largest career choice event, the Educatio International Education Exhibition, will take place between January 9-11 in Budapest. Balázs Hankó, Minister of Culture and Innovation, told M1 news channel that students are invited to discover inspiring university stands, scholarship programs and career opportunities from Thursday morning.

In the two pavilions of Hungexpo, over 20,000 square meters of more than a hundred exhibitors (universities, vocational training centers, companies) will show interested visitors why it is good to continue studying, to be a university student, what knowledge, career opportunities and experiences await future students. About 50-60,000 visitors are expected, said Balázs Hankó.

A university degree in Hungary means a wage multiplier of about one and a half times.

For the second year running, over 100,000 people are applying to higher education, with 328,000 students in total, including 46,000 foreigners. Around 260,000 students receive scholarships totaling around HUF 100 billion (EUR 240 million), and Hungarian universities are moving up the world rankings,” the Minister said.

Balázs Hankó also spoke on Kossuth Radio’s program Good morning, Hungary! about the unlawful exclusion of Hungarian students from the Erasmus program, which was the result of an “illegal procedure by Brussels.”

“Brussels does not care about Hungarian students, it has taken them hostage for political reasons, but

the Hungarian government has already given 3,000 students the opportunity to study at excellent universities abroad with higher scholarships through the Pannonia Scholarship Program,

which means it is a better program than Brussels’,” the Minister said.
