Hungary Tops the Medal Table at the European Pentathlon Championships

With three gold, one silver, and two bronze medals, Hungarians finished at the top of the medal table at the European Modern Pentathlon Championships in Madrid.
As reported by Hungary Today, our female athletes had already won two medals on Friday morning. The Hungarian women’s team, consisting of Blanka Bauer, Blanka Guzi, and Noémi Eszes, won the gold medal, while Bauer came in third in the individual competition.
The male members of the delegation also excelled that afternoon. The Hungarian men’s team (Mihály Koleszár, András Gáll and Balázs Szép) also stood on the top step of the podium. Mihály Koleszár performed outstandingly in the individual competition and won a silver medal.
He was particularly impressive on the new obstacle course, recording the fastest time of the field.
András Gáll and Balázs Szép also contributed significantly to the team’s success.
The Hungarian athletes crowned their success with another gold medal in the mixed relay competition on Saturday.
The duo of Blanka Guzi and Mihály Koleszár had an outstanding performance, especially on the obstacle course and in the final combined race, where they confidently prevailed over the field.
In addition to their individual and team successes, Noémi Eszes and Emma Mészáros won bronze medals in the women’s relay on Sunday. They fought their way back from fifth place in fencing, then delivered solid performances in the obstacle course and combined event, that put them on the podium.
With these results, Hungary impressively reinforced its position as one of the best nations in modern pentathlon, taking first place in the medal table.
