Jennifer Lopez Wows Budapest at Her First Concert in Hungary

Jennifer Lopez, world-famous American singer and actress, gave her first concert in Hungary on Sunday evening.

The performance at the MVM Dome in Budapest was part of her 2025 “This Is Me… Now: Up Close and Personal” tour, in which the singer is touring the world with a more personal show. The Hungarian audience awaited the performance with great anticipation, with tickets sold out months in advance and fans arriving from not only Hungary but also neighboring countries.

Although the start was announced for 8 p.m., J.Lo finally took the stage about 40 minutes late. However, the wait was more than compensated for by the spectacular opening: Lopez kicked off the evening with her hit “On the Floor,” bursting onto the stage with professional dancers and dynamic choreography. The performance explored different stages of the pop diva’s life and career through music and visuals, building the show around three characters: the party girl, the romantic, and the self-aware woman. Each character was highlighted by separate costumes, lighting effects, and choreography, allowing the audience to embark on not only a musical journey but also a visual one.

The concert featured J.Lo’s best-known hits, including “Love Don’t Cost a Thing,” “Get Right,” “Ain’t It Funny,” and “Jenny From the Block,” as well as songs from her new album, such as “This Is Me… Now” and “Hummingbird.”

These songs had a more personal, emotional feel and gave an insight into the singer’s latest musical world. The sound was live throughout, with Lopez’s powerful vocals and the professional playing of the backing band complementing each other perfectly.

The stage technology was impressive: animations on LED walls, constantly changing lights, and effects made the performance even more memorable. The background dancers’ movements were coordinated and dynamic, and the choreography was worked out down to the smallest detail. The audience was diverse, with young couples, friends, families, and older fans all in attendance. The atmosphere remained relaxed and enthusiastic throughout, with many singing along with the singer, who spoke in Hungarian on several occasions: “I’m so happy to be here,” she said with a smile, which was met with thunderous applause.

At the end of the evening, she closed the story of the three female characters with the song “Up All Night,” followed by a standing ovation that prompted the singer to return for an encore. After the encore, Jennifer Lopez bowed and said a touching goodbye to the Budapest audience: “Thank you, Hungary! This was one of the most wonderful evenings of my life. See you again!” she concluded.

The singer’s first concert in Hungary was a musical experience, a theatrical performance, and a visual production all at once.
