Norbert Kiss has made motorsport history by claiming his seventh FIA European Truck Racing Championship title, following a commanding victory in the first race on Sunday at the legendary Le Mans circuit.
With the win, the Révész Racing driver not only successfully defended his crown but also became the most decorated competitor in the championship’s history, surpassing Germany’s Jochen Hahn, with whom he previously shared the record for most European titles.
The 40-year-old driver from Szombathely (western Hungary) dominated the morning qualifying session, clinching pole position with a margin of nearly half a second. He then delivered a flawless lights-to-flag victory in Sunday’s opening race—his third of the weekend—which sealed his championship with one round to spare.
Thanks to the points lead he had built over the season, Norbert Kiss’s triumph in Race 3 of the Le Mans weekend gave him an unassailable advantage in the standings. No other driver has ever claimed seven titles in the series’ history.
Following the checkered flag, race organizers surprised the newly crowned champion with a congratulatory video message from Boglárka Kapás-Telegdy, Hungary’s Olympic bronze medalist, world champion, and seven-time European champion swimmer.
Norbert Kiss first won the European title in 2014 and 2015, then went on a dominant run starting in 2021, clinching five consecutive championships. His latest triumph continues a streak of supremacy over longtime rival Jochen Hahn, who has finished behind Norbert Kiss in each of the past four seasons.
In the final race of the weekend, which featured a reverse-grid format, Norbert Kiss started from eighth position and ultimately finished where he began—crossing the line in eighth after 11 laps.
With one round remaining in the 2025 season, Norbert Kiss’s name is now firmly etched into the record books as the greatest driver in European truck racing history.
