Lufthansa Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Budapest


A Lufthansa flight made an emergency landing in Budapest after colliding with a bird on Sunday afternoon while en route from Munich to Cluj-Napoca (Kolozsvár, Romania). The plane landed safely at Liszt Ferenc International Airport, and passengers continued their journey on a replacement flight.

A Lufthansa flight from Munich to Cluj-Napoca collided with a bird and was forced to interrupt its journey in Budapest early Sunday afternoon, MTI reported, citing the Chief Corporate Communications and Government Relations Officer at Budapest Airport.

The aircraft landed safely at Liszt Ferenc Airport in Budapest, and passengers are expected to continue their journey on a replacement flight,”

said Katalin Valentínyi.

As merkur.de writes, the Airbus A320 took off from Germany at 11 a.m. with 93 passengers on board. The aircraft aborted its landing in Cluj-Napoca and was diverted to Budapest, where it landed at 1:40 p.m.  None of the passengers were injured.
