Mid-Week Fuel Price Hike Anticipated

From Wednesday, fuel prices will rise again, Világgazdaság reports, based on holtankoljak.hu, a website that monitors petrol station prices.

The price increase so far does not seem to be slowing down. At wholesale prices 95 petrol will cost HUF 7, while diesel will be HUF 11 (gross) more expensive.

Average retail prices will be as follows from mid-week:

95 will cost HUF 607 (EUR 1.56) per liter, and
HUF 651 (EUR 1.68) for diesel.

It is important to underline that these are average prices, depending on the gas station, prices may vary higher or lower.

Since January there has been a significant increase in the average price of fuel at wholesale level. Petrol has risen by HUF 63 and diesel by HUF 77, although this includes a HUF 41 increase in the compulsory excise duty. Excluding the latter, the increases are HUF 22 and HUF 36.
