Minister of Culture Receives High Serbian State Award

Balázs Hankó, Minister of Culture and Innovation, received a high Serbian state award, the Order of the Serbian Flag, First Class, from Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Belgrade on Monday.

The award was given to the Minister for his outstanding achievements, specifically for his contribution to the development and strengthening of bilateral relations between Serbia and Hungary, particularly in the field of culture.

After receiving the award, Balázs Hankó emphasized that the recognition can be attributed to Hungarian-Serbian friendship, as “we are now experiencing a golden age in Hungarian-Serbian relations.” “As President Vucic explained in his speech, Europe needs strong nations, as strong nations are needed in Europe, nations that say no to war, stand up for peace, and are sovereign, thereby strengthening their nations in culture, economy, and education,” he emphasized.

He added that Hungarians and Serbs are such nations, and that is what this recognition is about.

He pointed out that it is thanks to István Pásztor, the late president of the Hungarian Association of Vojvodina, that “Hungarian-Serbian relations have grown into friendship, and the two countries are working together to make Europe strong.”

“After all, Europe’s and the European Commission’s unelected leaders have conspired against Europe; they want to lead Europe into war, they oppose normality, whereas we Hungarians and Serbs are nations with patriotic Christian governments, and that is precisely why we stand for normality,” he explained.

He recalled that it was in this spirit that the Hungarian-Serbian cultural season was launched, with events taking place almost every other day.

But we have also made progress in innovation. Our universities have good relations, and we have a joint innovation fund,”

he emphasized.
