The British government has withdrawn the entry permit of Dutch conservative activist Eva Vlaardingerbroek. As a result, the political commentator can no longer enter the UK without a visa and has no right to appeal the decision. Vlaardingerbroek believes the move followed a social media post in which she strongly criticized British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. While the UK has barred her entry, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has stated that she is “always welcome to Hungary.”
The British government informed Eva Vlaardingerbroek that her Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA)—a digital permit for visa-free entry to the UK—had been revoked. The ban came into effect three days after the conservative activist published a sharply critical post about British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. In the post, she accused Starmer of acting against social media platform X in the name of “women’s safety” while, in her view, tolerating the continued rape and murder of British girls by what she described as “migrant rape gangs.” She concluded the post by calling Starmer an “evil, despicable man.”
Vlaardingerbroek’s expulsion from the UK comes at a time of severe migration crises, with record numbers of illegal migrants continuing to arrive on British shores. She frequently comments on the negative consequences of mass migration to the West, linking it to higher crime rates and social problems using statistics and events. She is a strong advocate of repatriation (remigration) and regularly warns against “population replacement.”
Responding to the decision, she stated,
I guess my point that the UK is no longer a free country has been indisputably proven.”
Miklós Szánthó, Director General of the Center for Fundamental Rights (organizer of CPAC Hungary), condemned the entry ban on Vlaardingerbroek, arguing that it was not an isolated case. He emphasized that Eva Vlaardingerbroek could not be silenced, neither through censorship nor through her speech at CPAC Hungary. “We’re with you,” wrote the Director General on X.
Balázs Orbán, the political director of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, condemned the UK’s decision, claiming that British authorities enforce borders against critics rather than against illegal migration. He argued that
Vlaardingerbroek was banned “for saying what millions already see,”
and noted that she and her family would always be welcome in Hungary.
The Prime Minister also expressed his support for the activist and welcomed her to Hungary at any time. Eva Vlaardingerbroek thanked Viktor Orbán and emphasized:
No other country embodies the essence of the True Europe more than Hungary— thanks to your tireless efforts in defending it against those who seek its destruction. You give us hope. See you at CPAC Hungary in March!”
Fact
The UK entry ban follows a series of earlier controversies involving restrictions on Vlaardingerbroek’s online presence. In March 2023, her Twitter (today: X) account was permanently suspended without explanation by the platform’s former management. After an appeal and public criticism, the account was reinstated within hours.
In November 2025, Vlaardingerbroek stated that she was being shadowbanned on X, which she attributed to the European Union’s Digital Services Act (DSA). According to her, the restrictions limited the reach of her content within the EU while remaining unaffected elsewhere. The issue was resolved shortly afterward.
Her speech at CPAC Hungary 2024 was removed by YouTube but later uploaded to X, where it received more than 50 million views.
