Planet Budapest Sustainability Expo Opens Showcasing Green Innovations

One of Central Europe’s most significant sustainability events, the Planet Budapest Sustainability Expo, organized for the third time by the Blue Planet Climate Protection Foundation, has opened its doors. The event, which can be visited at the Railway History Park in Budapest, will welcome visitors for more than a month.

In his opening speech, János Áder, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Blue Planet Climate Protection Foundation and patron of the event, emphasized that sustainability is a multifaceted concept and a complex science, the essence of which is that the Earth’s resources are finite.

“No matter how much we believe in human ingenuity, no matter how much we trust in the omnipotence of technology, no matter how much we delude ourselves that we will figure out how to expand the Earth and make it grow, sustainability is the realization that this will not succeed,” said the former head of state.

Therefore, human knowledge and creativity must be focused on creating a balance between human well-being and the finite resources of nature.”

“Nature itself teaches us this, as it generates no waste and is capable of continuous renewal,” concluded János Áder. At the same time, he pointed out that “we can have no other goal than to shape the future by investing human capital wisely and taking care of natural capital.”
