The Potápi Árpád János Foundation for the Hungarian Nation is launching the Potápi Talent Program, the Foundation announced.
The Foundation, established in memory of the late Árpád János Potápi, former state secretary for national policy and member of parliament, emphasizes in its announcement:
“Árpád János Potápi often said, that there is no future for Hungary without Hungarian children and young people. In line with this idea, the Árpád János Potápi Foundation for the Hungarian Nation is announcing the Potápi Talent Program.
The aim of the program is to support talented young people of secondary school age living abroad and in Hungary who are committed to their homeland, have excellent academic results, actively participate in local community life, and envision their future in their homeland.
The Foundation aims to recognize and support young Hungarians who are not only talented but also active participants in the community life of their homeland, thereby representing in a worthy manner what Árpád János Potápi represented throughout his life: commitment to the nation and the community and love for their homeland.
Young people between the ages of 14 and 18 living in Hungary and abroad are eligible to apply. To submit an application, applicants must provide proof of age, certificate of attendance at a Hungarian educational institution (for those living abroad), proof of outstanding academic achievements and community involvement, and a letter of motivation in which the applicant presents their achievements to date, the town/region they come from, and their future plans in their homeland.
The 30 applicants who meet the application criteria and have the most outstanding results will receive a scholarship. Each winner will receive a one-time scholarship of HUF 200,000 (around EUR 530).
The 30 winners will receive their certificates at a ceremony in the Hungarian Parliament in Budapest on March 28, 2026, the birthday of Árpád János Potápi.
The deadline for applications is midnight on March 10, 2026 (Central European Time).
