Record Number of Exhibitors Expected at 15th “Badacsony in New York” Wine Tasting

Badacsony

A record number of forty-two exhibitors will represent the Badacsony Wine Region on April 11 at the 15th “Badacsony in New York” wine tasting event at the New York Palace in Budapest. This year’s guest of honor will be Austria’s Wachau wine region.

In addition to Badacsony winemakers, local tourism service providers, producers, and artisans will also be present in the Rome Hall of the New York Palace, as well as ten Wachau wineries representing the guest of honor, the Austrian wine region, the organizers announced.

As part of the event, the mayors of Weissenkirchen (known as the center of the Wachau wine region) and Badacsonytomaj (at Lake Balaton) will sign a sister city cooperation agreement.

Coordinated by the Badacsony Tourism, the Wine Route Association and with the active participation of Badacsony winemakers, the event will also include a master class for those with a deeper interest in wine. The master class will celebrate the guest of honor from Wachau and the sister city cooperation agreement, thus bearing the title “Badacsony X Wachau”.

The best wines selected during a blind tasting from the two wine regions will be presented at the master class by András Csizmadia, founder and director of BorSchola, college professor, and Sándor Németi, wine writer and wine expert, founding editor-in-chief of WineArtCulture. The accompanying dishes will be prepared by András Wolf, executive chef at New York Café, A Séf Asztala, and Gundel Restaurant.
