Dominik Szoboszlai has reached a historic milestone. The Hungarian international, who plays for Liverpool FC, is valued at a three-digit million sum in Transfermarkt’s latest market value update. This elevates him into the most exclusive circle of world football.
It is causing a stir in Hungary and the Premier League: Dominik Szoboszlai is officially worth €100 million. After his market value was raised to €85 million last fall, he has now made the leap into the “100 club.”
There are currently only 20 professionals worldwide who have reached or exceeded this prestigious mark.
Within the Liverpool FC squad, the update has shifted the hierarchy. Dominik Szoboszlai is now the second most valuable player on the team. He is now on par with new signing Alexander Isak, who, however, has seen his value drop by €20 million. Only Florian Wirtz is valued higher within the team at €110 million.
Ben Littlemore, market value coordinator for the Premier League at Transfermarkt, attributes the increase to the Hungarian midfielder’s impressive consistency. “Szoboszlai has arrived in the Premier League and proven his versatility there. He is one of the few constants in the team and shows his quality week after week, and at only 25 years old, he still has a lot of time ahead of him,” he explained.
The Hungarian captain now ranks 17th in the global rankings, on par with stars such as Julian Álvarez (Atlético Madrid) and former Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé (PSG).
Behind Mateus Mané (Wolverhampton) and Junior Kroupi (Bournemouth), Dominik Szoboszlai also recorded the third-highest increase in value in the entire league.
His manager, Mátyás Esterházy, responded with pride to Magyar Nemzet, although remained down-to-earth. “Of course we are very proud, because no Hungarian player has ever reached such heights before. It is an important milestone that underlines Dominik Szoboszlai’s quality in international comparison,“ said the manager. ”For us, consistency is crucial. We hope that Dominik can finish this season with another trophy,” he added.
The statistics underpin the jump in market value.
In the current season, Dominik Szoboszlai has already scored ten goals and provided eight assists in 39 competitive games for the Reds.
The next opportunity to prove his worth will come on Tuesday evening in the Champions League round of 16, when Liverpool travel to Turkish top club Galatasaray.
Other Hungarian internationals have also been able to consolidate or improve their status. Milos Kerkez (Liverpool FC) has stabilized his value at €40 million. Roland Sallai (Galatasaray) and Alex Tóth (Bournemouth) have each increased their market value to €12 million.
Hungarian soccer seems to be stronger and more valuable than it has been in a long time, led by a captain who is now finally among the world’s elite.
