The country’s largest art fair will take place from February 26 to March 1, covering a larger area and featuring more exhibitors than ever before. This year, 50 galleries have announced their participation, and the organizers of Art and Antique expect record visitor numbers.
Due to the high level of interest, additional rooms at the Bálna event center will be opened to visitors at this year’s Art and Antique. In addition to paintings and sculptures, furniture, jewelry, carpets, books, and other art objects are playing an increasingly important role at the fair.
“Every year, Art and Antique offers a comprehensive overview of the Hungarian art market. We are proud that interest among exhibitors and the public is growing steadily, which is why we expect record visitor numbers in 2026,” said main organizer Ádám Tausz. “It is particularly pleasing that the audience is getting younger and younger:
Young people in their 20s are just as enthusiastic about art as members of Generation X.
Accordingly, we are presenting ourselves with a new look this year, and the range of products on offer is also becoming increasingly diverse,” he added.
Art and Antique is the most important art fair of the year, where the latest contemporary works find their place alongside classic paintings and antique furniture. The main attraction of the event at Bálna is that interested visitors can find affordable design objects and accessories as well as collectibles. Purchasing is not mandatory; Art and Antique is also an excellent program for those who simply want to lose themselves in the colorful diversity of the artworks.
Those interested can also take part in guided tours and competitions at the most diverse art event of the year.
The competition was organized by the auction house and the BÁV ART gallery, and the main prize is, fittingly, a special necklace. The necklace and pendant, made of 14-karat white gold, are adorned with a 0.485-carat brilliant-cut diamond and are valued at over 600,000 HUF (1,578 EUR). One of the visitors will leave the exhibition with this sparkling, elegant piece of jewelry.
