Three Medals at World Military Pentathlon Championship

The 49th CISM World Military Modern Pentathlon Championship held in Drzonków, Poland, ended with an outstanding Hungarian performance: the Hungarian team won three silver medals at the prestigious international competition. In the men’s competition, Corporal Csaba Bőhm stood out with his second place in the individual event, while in the women’s competition, Hungarian military pentathletes took second place in both team events.

Corporal Csaba Bőhm, a competitor from the Hungarian Armed Forces Sports Company, delivered an outstanding performance in the individual competition. As he said in a video posted on the Hungarian Defense Forces Sports Company’s social media page, although he was unable to repeat his previous result in fencing in the final, he achieved an excellent time on the obstacle course and then improved in the swimming event.

In the combined shooting and running event, he produced a fantastic finish: he climbed up from fourth place and ultimately won the silver medal.

In the women’s competition, Corporal Rita Erdős was the most successful, finishing fourth in the individual competition, with a particularly outstanding performance, fighting her way up from 11th place to the top of the field.

Her result was complemented by Noémi Eszes in 9th place and Laura Gyugyi in 16th place, which meant a silver medal for the Hungarians in the women’s team competition.

The third Hungarian medal came in the women’s relay, where Noémi Eszes and Dorina Dobronyi formed the pair. The duo fought their way to second place with an excellently coordinated performance, completing the Hungarian delegation’s success in Drzonków.
