Uzbekistan’s My Freighter Plans to Launch a Hungarian Airline

Uzbekistan-based cargo airline My Freighter plans to acquire two more air operator certificates, one in Hungary and the other in Saudi Arabia, as part of its expansion strategy.

Abdulaziz Abdurakhmanov, founder and CEO of Centrum Holding that also operates Uzbekistan’s My Freighter cargo airline, told the Central Asia Air Cargo Summit last week that the company would acquire new air operator’s certificates (AOCs) in Hungary and Saudi Arabia to support its international expansion, Ch-aviation reports.

The new Saudi and Hungarian cargo airlines would expand the company’s presence in Europe, South and North America, the Middle East, and the Far East.

The executive noted that My Freighter also plans to launch cargo flights from a new base in Navoi, Uzbekistan, to Liege and Ostrava, as well as entering the markets of Singapore, Malaysia and the Pacific countries, and is planning regular flights to Pakistan and India.

The Uzbek company currently operates five Boeing 767-300ER freighter aircraft and plans to add five more next year, with a fleet of 20 aircraft by 2026, the executive said.

My Freighter operated several weekly cargo charter flights to Budapest from Hong Kong with a stopover in Uzbekistan.

In addition to My Freighter cargo airline, the group also includes Centrum Air, which does not yet have a separate AOC but operates four Airbus passenger aircraft.
