Viktor Orbán Announces 14th Month Pension and Wage Increases in Social Sectors


There will be a 14th month pension, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced on his Facebook page on Thursday evening.

In the video accompanying his post, the prime minister said that there had been a long debate on this issue at the previous day’s cabinet meeting, but it had been decided that

there would be a 14th month pension, and the government is working on the details of its introduction.

They also decided on a 15 percent wage increase in the social and cultural sectors, a doubling of allowances for foster parents, an action plan to improve the situation of children in state care, and the extension and expansion of the trade margin cap to 14 additional food items, PM Viktor Orbán said in the video.

In a video posted on his Facebook page on Thursday, the Minister for Culture and Innovation announced that the government is committed to supporting Hungarian culture.

At its Wednesday meeting, the cabinet decided to raise the salaries of employees in the cultural sector by 15 percent from January 1.”

According to Balázs Hankó, the measure will benefit around 41,000 workers nationwide.
