We Are The Opposition to Pro-Migration Brussels

In a Facebook video Prime Minister Viktor Orbán referred to the governing party as the opposition to pro-migration Brussels. The prime minister reported after Tuesday’s Fidesz executive meeting, where he received a “battlefield report” from pro-government MEPs “fighting in Brussels.”

Viktor Orbán emphasized that Brussels has launched a campaign of lies against Hungary on migration, claiming that Hungary is not being obliged to accept illegal migrants. He called this claim a “blatant lie,” stating that Hungary opposes the migration pact because it mandates accepting migrants, creating migrant ghettos, and undermining Hungary’s border protection system.

We have spent EUR 2B on border protection so far, so we deserve a medal, not a punishment,” he said.

The Prime Minister warned that migration is an issue where even a single mistake can be irreversible: once weak governments and leaders allow migrants in, they cannot remove them. “We will not allow this. We are the opposition to pro-migration Brussels. It has been this way before, and it will be this way again. They can appoint a deputy or send us a puppet government; we will not let them,” Mr. Orbán declared.

In addition to his remarks on migration, Viktor Orbán also addressed Hungary’s role in broader geopolitical matters, particularly its independent stance on peace and security. As reported by Hungary Today, the Prime Minister emphasized Hungary’s commitment to peace and independence, criticizing the EU’s support for U.S.-led policies that prioritize NATO expansion and conflict escalation. He stated that Hungary would continue to oppose any efforts that compromise its sovereignty and energy security.
