2024 NFL AFC, NFC Championship odds: Chiefs, Lions favored once again

The NFL playoffs are inching closer. In fact, a number of teams have already booked their tickets.

Could you have guessed that the defending champion Chiefs are already in?

So far, joining them as guaranteed playoff participants are the Bills, Eagles, Lions, Steelers, Ravens, Packers, Texans and Vikings. The rest of the field is in flux.

With that, it’s time to look at which teams will make it to the final weekend and play in Super Bowl LIX. Let’s check out the odds at Draftkings Sportsbook, as of Dec. 24.

NFC Conference Winner Odds:

Lions: +190 (bet $10 to win $29 total)
Eagles: +290 (bet $10 to win $39 total)
Vikings: +500 (bet $10 to win $60 total)
Packers: +600 (bet $10 to win $70 total)
Rams: +1200 (bet $10 to win $130 total)
Commanders: +1900 (bet $10 to win $200 total)
Buccaneers: +2200 (bet $10 to win $230 total)

The Big Picture: The NFC is stacked at the top, with the Lions and Vikings sitting at 13-2, and the Eagles at 12-3 after their loss to Washington in Week 16. Detroit has tiebreakers on its side right now, but can it hold on to the top seed? It has two games left: on the road against San Francisco and home against Minnesota. The Eagles, meanwhile, have Dallas and the Giants at home. Minnesota has Green Bay at home and Detroit on the road. The top seed, which will determine the road to the Super Bowl, is truly up for grabs.

Will Patrick Mahomes solidify his dynasty with a Chiefs three-peat this year?

AFC Conference Winner Odds:

Chiefs: +175 (bet $10 to win $27.50 total)
Bills: +225 (bet $10 to win $32.50 total)
Ravens: +370 (bet $10 to win $47 total)
Steelers: +1500 (bet $10 to win $160 total)
Texans: +1700 (bet $10 to win $180 total)
Chargers: +1700 (bet $10 to win $180 total)
Broncos: +2200 (bet $10 to win $230 total)

The Big Picture: As has become a yearly routine, the AFC is all about who can knock off Kansas City, winners of four of the last five AFC title games. At 14-1, the Chiefs are atop the conference standings again, but they have shown some kinks in the armor. Consider this: The Chiefs’ 21-7 win over Cleveland in Week 15 was their first double-digit win since a 10-point win over S.F. in Week 7, and just their third double-digit win of the season. Buffalo, at 12-3, gave Kansas City its only loss of the year so far, and has won nine of its last 10. Is this finally the Bills’ year?
