Chiefs vs Bills Expert Predictions for AFC Championship Game Rematch
The NFL’s Conference Championship Weekend features three staples, and one big surprise.
In the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs are taking on the Buffalo Bills in the Conference Championship Game for the second time in five years.
In the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles are back in the Conference Championship for the second time in three years, but are facing the Washington Commanders, who haven’t been in a Conference Title Game since 1991.
The staff at Newsweek Sports has predictions for both games. Click here for the Eagles vs. Commanders predictions. Keep reading for the Chiefs vs. Bills predictions.

The Bills and Chiefs meet in the postseason for the fourth time in the last five years.
In 2020, the Chiefs took down the Bills in the Championship Game.
In 2021 and 2023, the Chiefs beat the Bills in the Divisional Round.
While the Bills have been unable to beat the Chiefs when it matters most, they’ve won four straight regular season games against the Chiefs, including a 30-21 win in Week 11, the Chiefs’ first loss of the season and only loss in which their starters played.
The Bills have taken down the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens en route to the AFC Title Game. The Chiefs beat the Houston Texans after securing a first-round bye.
Will the Bills finally get revenge over quarterback Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, or will Kansas City make its fifth Super Bowl appearance in the last six years?
Noah Camras: The Bills have been unable to take down Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs when the stakes are highest. Coming off a tight 27-25 win over the Ravens, the Bills will continue to play at a high level on both sides of the ball. On the flip side, though, Mahomes and Co. will continue their magical season, as they attempt to make history as the first back-to-back-to-back Super Bowl champion. This will be the best game of the playoffs, and in the end, Josh Allen will finally get over the hump and beat the Chiefs to reach the Super Bowl. For more on my predictions, click here.

Prediction: Bills 27, Chiefs 24
Matt Levine: The Chiefs have been the ultimate kryptonite for the Bills in recent years, at least in the postseason. Kansas City has looked as vulnerable as ever this season, with the only loss they suffered this season when playing starters coming against Buffalo. But this game shifts to Arrowhead Stadium where it takes an almost perfect game plan to win. While the Bills have shown they can beat the Chiefs this year, more playoff misery awaits them as the Chiefs reach the Super Bowl yet again.
Prediction: Chiefs 30, Bills 20
Alex Kirschenbaum: Kansas City is a 1.5/2-point favorite heading into the match as of this writing, but Josh Allen is playing the best football of his life, and Patrick Mahomes is not. That could be the difference as the Bills finally beat the Chiefs in the playoffs and reach the Super Bowl for the first time since 1994.
Prediction: Bills 20, Chiefs 14
