Concerning Bills Announcement Spells Good News for Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs started the season with back-to-back losses to the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles.

Three weeks later, a 31-28 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars had many wondering if the Chiefs actually had what it takes to compete for another Super Bowl title. After three straight wins over the Detroit Lions, Las Vegas Raiders and Washington Commanders – all by at least 13 points – the Chiefs are once again Super Bowl favorites.

However a big challenge looms as Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills prepare to host the Chiefs on Sunday. Ahead of the contest, Mahomes opened up on what it’s like playing opposite Allen as two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL get set to do battle.

“To be that size and to be able to move like that, he’s done so many great things as far as throwing the football,” Mahomes said. “The way he’s able to extend plays and be close to the sideline and make these big-time throws down the field, that stuff is special. He’s gotten better and better each and every year. I think that’s something that I’ve seen in him and something I try to do for myself as well. He’s a great football player.”

On Thursday, the Bills revealed the team’s injury report which listed two defensive players, defensive tackle DaQuan Jones and linebacker Shaq Thompson, as not practicing.

The talented linebacker previously made it clear he’d do everything possible to get onto the field. “I feel like I can do everything and anything. Regardless of what injury I’m going through, I’m playing through everything. That’s just who I am as a person. I always tell myself if I can walk, I’m playing,” he said.

However, after Buffalo revealed Thompson was a limited participant on Wednesday the team downgraded him just a day later – an unfortunate sign for his chances of playing on Sunday.
