Fans Accuse Meghan Markle of Copying Pamela Anderson
Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors
Meghan Markle is finding herself at the center of quite the controversy as fans accuse her of borrowing a bit too much from Pamela Anderson’s upcoming cooking show.
The drama kicked off over the weekend when social media users pointed out the striking similarities between Markle’s new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, and Anderson’s Pamela’s Cooking With Love on Food Network Canada.
While The Duchess of Sussex’s show was initially supposed to come out in January, her release date was postponed until March 4 due to the wildfires that were destroying Los Angeles earlier this year. Anderson’s show, however, will be premiering on Monday, February 24. From the similar names to the strikingly similar trailers –– it’s safe to say fans are raising their eyebrows.

“Pamela is highlighting the people with talent that she is eager to learn from, Markle is high jacking the talent of others and passing it off as all her own ideas! Netflix have just signed up to their very own Belle Gibson.. oh the irony!,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Another wrote, “Pamela has something Meghan doesn’t. Authenticity,” while a third jabbed, “i bet Pam’s knife skills are better than markle’s.”
“Maybe they’re using the same director?,” a fourth suggested.
Others flipped the script, and suggested it was Anderson, 57, who was copying Markle, 43. “It’s so sweet of Pamela to copy Meghan’s cooking show idea and make it her own,” one replied.
If you watch the trailer for Pamela’s new show, it’s a more authentic version of what Meghan was trying to achieve & it looks as though Meghan has copied everything! The trailers are so similar it’s freaky. 👀👀👀

Another claimed. “They do this everytime Meghan is about to launch a project: they bring up the bogus bullying allegations.”
Both shows feature the women cooking, picking fresh produce, and inviting various celebrity guests into their homes, with the trailers sharing nearly-identical language. In the Baywatch star’s teaser, she opens with a personal reflection on her love for cooking, saying, “I love to cook. I just have always wanted to take things to another level.” Meanwhile, Markle declared in her own trailer, “I’ve always loved taking something pretty ordinary and elevating it.”
