Father Fatally Shot by Ex-Partner’s Fiancé During Custody Exchange
A father was fatally shot during a fight with his ex-girlfriend’s fiancé during a child custody exchange, authorities said.
Deputies responded to the 500 block of County Road 166 in Parker, Colorado, at around 3 p.m. on Sunday after receiving a report that two men were fighting and one had shot the other man in the chest, the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The victim of the shooting was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
His name was not released, but the sheriff’s office said he was a 36-year-old from Parker who was at the location for a custody exchange of his 4-year-old daughter with his ex-girlfriend.
