Anti-Drugs Task Force Starts their “Dealer Hunt”

“The Anti-Drugs Task Force has held its first meeting; the manhunt is on!” reads a video posted on the government’s Facebook page on Saturday morning.

In the video, Bence Rétvári, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Ministry of the Interior, expressed: zero tolerance, the manhunt against drug traffickers is on. “What are we doing to tackle the growing drug problem?” asked László Horváth, a Fidesz MP who has been appointed government commissioner on the matter. He stresses that the first step is to eradicate drug trafficking.

“The first meeting of the Anti-Drugs Action Group has just ended at the Ministry of the Interior”,

said Bence Rétvári, adding that the meeting was attended by the heads of the police, education, social affairs and health sectors. “We have a common task to fight drug traffickers”, the State Secretary emphasized.

“In Hungary, new ways of drug trafficking are spreading: dealers are offering very cheap drugs in very large numbers,” he explained, stressing that there is zero tolerance towards them. Drug traffickers don’t care about other people’s lives, all they care about is making as much money as possible. “We will stop them,” exclaimed Bence Rétvári.

László Horváth said: “Today, at the Task Force, we have reviewed and identified the main areas of intervention and targets;

we have a Drug Crime Bureau (KBEH) with a special intervention unit capable of striking drug traffickers anywhere and at any time.”

There is no mercy, zero tolerance for drug traffickers, told the government commissioner, adding that “we will eradicate drug trafficking in Hungary”. He declared that drug trafficking must be eradicated, not reduced.

Bence Rétvári announced: “We are concentrating our efforts to effectively tackle new forms of drug crime alongside the old ones.

A drug police force of 150 people has already been set up, along with a deployment unit consisting of 60 officers,”

he said. “Today we have agreed that we will crack down on drug traffickers with the full force of the law, and we will launch a manhunt,” explained the State Secretary.

Bence Rétvári also posted on Facebook about the meeting. He said that police, health, education and social leaders met in the task force to define the tasks needed for a tough crackdown.

In another video Prime Minister Viktor Orbán also mentions, that they will be focusing more on the people living in rural areas where “the drugs are cheaper than a shot of alcohol”. We will catch the dealers and take away their substances to protect our children, he emphasized.
